Rabid bat bites Belleville boy
Authorities have confirmed that a bat that bit a 10-year-old boy June 11 in Belleville was infected with rabies. The boy was among a group of kids who saw the bat near a retention pond at a trailer park in the city. He picked it up thinking it was dead, said Belleville Police Chief Gene Taylor.
