New Zealand Dollar Gains Most vs Dollar: Currency Scorecard 



Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) -- The New Zealand dollar registered the biggest gain against the U.S. dollar among 16 major currencies today, strengthening 0.28 percent as of about 5:00 p.m. Tokyo time. The worst performer was the South African rand, which fell 1.25 percent.

Japanese Stocks, Dollar Rise 
Japanese stocks rose slightly Tuesday morning paring early losses. The dollar was higher against the yen and euro. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 11.15 points, or 0.07 percent, to 15,467.96 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange at the end of the morning session.
